Kidman's Pregnancy is Just an Urban Myth
Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is not pregnant, despite rumors launched by NOTW. The actress denied the rumors despite earlier announcements she was looking forward to have Urban's child. In a tell-all interview with actor Russell Crowe in February, the Australian actress admitted that she is eager to have a child with her husband, country music singer Keith Urban.
"Are you going to carry a baby?" Crowe asked at the time. "Yes, I would hope so," the 39-year-old actress replied. "Well, I just want to see you walk around barefoot and pregnant," Crowe said. "I'd like to see that too," Kidman smiled.
Kidman confessed that she loves to love while she finds it hard to allow herself to be loved. "Receiving the love and feeling like you deserve it is a pretty big struggle and I suppose that's what I've learned just recently is to allow myself to be loved," she said.
Speaking through her publicist Wendy Day, now Kidman said the report was "incorrect". "As if she would confirm a pregnancy to News of the World," Ms Day said. "She is about to get on a horse in the outback and breaking brumbies (Australian horse). I hardly think she will be able to do that if she is pregnant."
Kidman starts work on Tuesday with Australian director Baz Luhrmann on his romantic adventure epic, 'Australia!', which is set in the remote Northern Territory during the Japanese attack on Darwin during World War II. Kidman will play an English woman feeling overwhelmed by the continent, opposite Hugh Jackman.
Kidman has two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, who live with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Apparently, the pregnancy rumors were sparked by the fact that Kidman was spotted outside the same St John's Health Clinic in California where former Spice Girl, Mel B, gave birth last week. The newspaper also reported Kidman had purchased baby goods, including a $400 nappy bag, from pricey kids' retailer Petit Tresor.
However, a better explanation for the baby stuff shopping is that Kidman's sister, Antonia, had given birth to her fourth child, Sybella, on March 28.
"We are going to get a farm and I really want a goat," Kidman confessed to Crowe in February. "I just kind of have this thing where I'd like to have a goat," she continued, adding that she would use it to make cheese.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban got married in June 2006 and four months later, Urban checked himself into rehab for a three-month treatment. He told Matt Lauer of his relationship with Kidman: "They say grief makes hearts and closer bonds than joy ever can. We've been through a lot, and she's been extraordinary."
In addition to her Academy Award for 'The Hours', she is a three-time Golden Globe winner for Best Actress. In 2006, Kidman became the highest paid actress in the film industry. In 2003, Kidman received her star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
