Pamela Anderson Stirs Up Fur Fuss In Finland.
PAMELA ANDERSON has taken aim at Finnish fur farms in a letter sent to the country's President TARJA HALONEN.
The former Baywatch star is in Scandinavia to host an upcoming music festival near Helsinki, Finland, and is making the most of her time there - calling for authorities to ban fur farms.
In her letter, Anderson, whose ancestors hailed from Finland, writes, "It's time for Finland to move into the 21st century."
Local fur companies have blasted her efforts to end the trade in the country, calling them "unrealistic".
A spokeswoman for the Finnish Fur Sales auction house claims such a ban would put more than 10,000 Finnish people out of work.
President Halonen's office has acknowledged receipt of the letter.
